Meet Apollo! Apollo is a wonderful little guy who is looking for a special person(s) to give him his forever home. Apollo has been at his current foster home for one week. He was very nervous when he first arrived and very wary of the people in the house. He and another kitten hid together for a few days only coming out after the sun set. He has finally warmed up and his human foster mom has gained his trust enough that she is able to walk past him without him running. She is even able to pick him up now. Apollo will probably do best in a house with another cat who will show him that his human family are nice people! In addition to being a little shy, Apollo is a special needs baby; he has a hole in his heart. We did an ultrasound on him and there is a chance that he could live a normal life or he could go into heart failure at a young age, depending on if the hole grows as he grows. Sometimes these holes stay the same size as the heart grows and sometimes they grow with the heart. To complicate things, he is cryptorchid, meaning his testicles have not descended which causes a more difficult neuter. The vet recommends waiting a bit to see if the testicles descend before neutering as sometimes they do in kittens. Despite all of the hardship in this little man's life, he is as active as any other kitten! He has no exercise restrictions at this time and he is a sweet little guy.
