Grover is a sweet young man who was hanging out in the area of one of our volunteers' houses. The first night she spotted him, he meowed at her but he was too timid to eat the food she gave him while she was there. The next day, Grover heard her outside and came running with a loud and long meow and some leg rubs! Each day after, he would greet her every time she left or returned home, and came running as soon as he heard her call his name. This guy is a gentle giant. He is a large cat but not fat. His age is estimated at 3 years, so he's been used to the wild life for some time now. Therefore, he may need a little time to adjust to the luxurious life of an indoor cat. If you are not looking for a needy cat, but rather an independent kitty who will seek you out for love and affection, Grover is your guy. He seems to like other cats and was fine with the preschool aged little girl he met. Grover is special needs in that he tested positive for FIV. This virus is not a death sentence. In fact, Grover can expect to live a fine life indoors. If he were to catch a cold, it might take him a little longer to recover, but other than that, he can like a "normal" kitty. FIV is not easily transferable to other cats; it would take something like a bite wound. It's also important to note, that FIV is not transferable to humans! Grover would be happy for the chance to love a family and to live a comfortable life now that he's off the streets.
