Shadow is a striking all black short hair, except for a very few white hairs on his chest. He is a nice guy who has a soft little trill and chirp when he sees you. He loves to snuggle up next to you on the bed and watch TV - he just purrs away because he's so happy to be with you. This poor guy was found outside in the cold, in a bad neighborhood where the cats are relentlessly chased by dogs. Alone, hungry, and fending for himself was surely not what this older gentleman was dreaming of at his age. He's now looking for a quite retirement home. He wants someone who understands about caring for older cats and can appreciate the rewards of having this guy in your home. We know it will take someone special to adopt him - is it you - or someone you know? Even after coming in from the cold weather he still walks somewhat awkwardly, due to what our vet suspects is stretched carpal muscles in his front paws from a previous injury that didn't heal right. We have been giving him a mild pain reliever daily (in a yummy pill pocket) and he feels much better, even perky enough to play with his favorite catnip mouse! He is also now able to climb a cat tree so he can look out the window and watch the birds. He has no special dietary needs at this time, other than eating a good quality canned food. Our vet estimates that Shadow is between 8-10 years old. Shadow was already neutered and declawed when we rescued him, and he has tested negative for both FIV and FeLV, is current on all his shots, and now has one of our microchips.
