Residential Counselor for Substance Abuse for General Consideration - Community Healthlink in Worcester, Massachusetts For Sale

We have several programs within Community Healthlink providing transitional and permanent congregate housing and support services for clients who are pursuing recovery from the disease of addiction.We have numerous employment options for qualified, interested candidates including a variety of settings and positions ranging from per diem to fulltime. Candidates who apply to this position for general consideration will have thier resume reviewed. Qualified candidates will be submitted to a program for consideration.1. Primary Counselor: Serve as residential counselor for specified number of residents as assigned by supervisor. 2. Treatment planning: Develop, implement and document treatment needs assessments, treatment plan, and progress reviews as part of continuous quality improvement activities. 3. Community Living: Work with residents to assist with activities of daily living and foster a sense of safety in the community which includes personal hygiene and self:care skills, money management and budgeting, symptom management, relapse prevention, use of public transportation, problem solving and conflict resolution, and other interventions as necessary.4. Nutrition: Ensure healthful menu planning, food shopping, and meal preparation through coordination and assistance. 5. Medications: Monitor residents medication, refills, documentation of medications and changes, assist with attending appointments, and safe storage. 6. Groups: Lead two or more skill development or recreational groups per week as assigned. 7. Continuity of Care: Attend teams and case conferences, and collaboration with other providers for designated residents. Provide outreach as designated to community based residents. 8. Routine Paperwork: Prepare daily log entries, incident reports and other required paperwork to ensure the program meets the standards. 9. Facility Upkeep: Work with residents to maintain the residence on a daily basis including chores, bedroom upkeep, yard and other light housekeeping duties. 10. Other Duties: Other related duties as assigned in order to provide quality rehabilitation services. 11. Maintain Competencies: Human Rights, dual diagnosis, infection control, CPR, First Aid, MAP, agency and divisional policy and procedures as well as other required competencies. May include transporting residents in personal car or program vehicle, physical assistance and close supervision.12. Working with residents to maintain the residence on a daily basis including chores, grocery shopping/carrying groceries into the kitchen, bedroom upkeep, laundry to include carrying to and from washer/dryer, yard work, and other moderate housekeeping duties. RCI: Associates degree in Human Services or HSD plus 2 years experience (or)RCII: Bachelors degree in social work or related mental health field or occupational therapist with AssociateA?s degree. Will consider Bachelors degree in non:related field with human service experience. MUST HAVE experience working with substance abuse.MUST HAVE Valid US drivers license and registered, insured vehicle for client transportation required.: All bilingual applicants are strongly urged .
