GENERAL SUMMARY Drive and coordinate acquisition due diligence and related activities between third parties and wide range of internal organizations. Scope includes leading the technical due diligence process for EMC M&A candidates, authoring memoranda of understanding (MOU) for technical projects, working with EMC Ventures, the Office of the CTO and others on a variety of projects, working with EMC Legal on intellectual property and open source related issues. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Maintain a high degree of knowledge within relevant technology domains (Storage, Security, Content management, & Virtualization) as well as maintain insight and understanding of assigned EMC products and development initiatives. • Studying and evaluating assigned companies in new technology areas for the purpose of strengthening EMC's market position and/or maintain market leadership through the introduction of new or disruptive technologies. • Leading the technical due diligence process for M&A candidates, working with cross-functional teams to document findings, identifying challenges and appropriate remediation to comply with EMC policies. • Assist with driving cross-functional awareness and activity within EMC leveraging investments in new technologies to insure they are aligned with EMC development plans. • Assist with the review of assigned companies (competitors) products to insure EMC intellectual property is not illegally being utilized. If Infringements are uncovered, then assist the Legal department in the preparation of cases against offenders. • Gather data and assist in creating company profiles for new business candidates and document strategic alignment within EMC. Competencies DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and capable professional with a history of working cross-functionally, driving to a successful conclusion complex technology projects. He or She will have had hands on experience providing data storage and/or enterprise software solutions to customers and will have expertise in implementing solutions (hands on) and troubleshooting. • Overall 10+ years of experience in advanced technical positions (technical support, development, solution engineering) working in complex IT environments. • Knowledge and experience in the enterprise IT infrastructure and storage space is required, along with a broad understanding of both enterprise software and enterprise security domains. • Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (VMware/Citrix/Microsoft), and enterprise databases are a plus. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • B.Sc. in CS, CE, EE or related fields.
